Free Family Concert

Spring 2025, date TBA
Curious George Room
Cambridge Public Library, 449 Broadway

Join us for a relaxed Saturday morning concert in the lovely Curious George Room at the main branch of the Cambridge Public Library on Broadway, just outside Harvard Square (adjacent to Cambridge Rindge & Latin). The library is a short walk from the Harvard Square T stop on the Red Line, and low cost parking is available in the garage underneath the library (enter on Broadway).

The concert, geared toward preschool children but appropriate for all ages, features a delightful abridged version of Prokofiev's Peter & the Wolf (at the end of which the wolf, instead of meeting his demise, is taken to the zoo), plus also other silly songs about animals, as well as a show-and-tell of the instruments of the woodwind family. Kids are welcome to dance, sing, eat (or nurse), walk around and just be kids. For the final piece of this 45 minute program, we invite children to play along on hand percussion instruments (which we provide) such as tambourines and claves, and each child receives a free colorful shaker to take home.

This concert, part of Radius Ensemble's Community Engagement program, is made possible by the Howard and Katherine Aibel Foundation.
