Many of us escape a hard time by throwing ourselves into work, but only Robert Schumann ended up with his transformative “chamber music year” to show for it. His entire chamber output – minus one earlier experiment in the genre – was composed between 1842-43. The most famous is likely the Piano Quintet in E-flat.
